Where can I control the counting of online guests?

Hello, 
in the layout menu you can switch between users who have registered or registered and unregistered users (guests) who are currently online. 
The number on the guest list seems very high to me. 
Probably the use is simulated by means of random numbers, since I cannot verify this via lockfile evaluation. 
In which file is the number determined (generated)? I would like to adapt that to the circumstances.
