Plugin upgrade

Hello,
lets say i got a plugin "X" installed with version 1 , and there are 4 version upgrades in this plugin , is there anyway to make the upgrade call all versions in between 1->4 as well as 4 ?

 The way I understand it is, as a plugin is upgraded, each new version carries the previous version's changes in it. It's ok to update from version 1 to version 4. You will still have all the changes from the previous versions.

Yes, as Mike said, You can upgrade from 1 to version 4. 4. You will still have all the changes from the previous versions
